The Materials & Engineering Research Institute (MERI) is a large and research active business within Sheffield Hallam University. Based at City Campus, its excellent research outputs in areas such as materials modelling, multi-layer nanoscale PVD coatings and clay nanocomposite materials have gained it an RAE rating of 5 in the most recent assessment. MERI also excels in generating income through consultancy activities including failure analysis, quality control and new product development.
